天津钢管公司是我国八五期间建设的现代化冶金企业，是国内目前最大的石油套管生产基地。1988年开始建设，1992年至1994年先后完成热负荷试车，1995年底通过竣工验收，1996年正式投入生产。设计能力为年产钢60万吨，无缝钢管50万吨，其中石油套管35万吨。主要设备分别从德国、意大利、美国等引进。
